Assistant Regional Director

Position Status: Full Time

Location: Asheville, NC

Salary range: $57K - $63K

Education Requirements: A four-year degree in a human service or related field and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a non-profit and community-based I/DD service organization.  Candidate must be a seasoned, motivated team player with excellent problem-solving and communication skills, steeped in person-centered thinking and implementation.  Candidate must be able to travel and be available for some overnights.  Must also have a thorough knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations governing services for people with developmental and other disabilities.

Experience Requirements: The Arc of North Carolina is seeking a seasoned professional to support the work of the Regional Director in overseeing and coordinating services for individuals with I/DD and their families throughout the Asheville Region.

Responsibilities: The Assistant Director will perform a wide range of duties pertaining to community-based support, including community navigator services, self-direction, advocacy and education, guardianship, and other services.  The Assistant Director will also assist in ensuring compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations, along with all policies and procedures of The Arc of NC, as well as the implementation of quality assurance and quality improvement measures and activities for the region.  The Assistant Director will also provide oversight, support, and guidance to supervisors and staff in the region as assigned by the Regional Director.

Support Associate (Direct Care Staff)

Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities: Providing breaks for caregivers, assistance with personal care, teaching skills to increase independence, promoting inclusion in the community. Related experience in direct care or special education is preferred but not required. Creativity, progressive thinking, strong advocacy skills, and knowledge of community resources are highly desirable. Qualified applicants must be 18 or older, current driver's license, and pass background checks.
